One of the most famous streets in Phuket Old Town, Thalang Road is lined with colorful Sino-Portuguese shop houses and buildings. On the other hand, you should also take a chance to visit the ‘Ang Mor Lao’ or Sino-Potugueses mansions scattered throughout Phuket Old town as well. Notable ones include Baan Chinpracha and the Blue Elephant Mansion.
There are over 40 traditional Chinese Shrines in Phuket. The most famous one being ‘Jui Tui Shrine’ which is one of the central Shrines when celebrating the Phuket Vegetarian Festival.
Some notable must-visit museums in Phuket Old Town include the Peranakannitat Museum (Baba Museum or Chalermraj Center) which is located right across from the Clock Tower. The museum has many artifacts and articles about the history of Peranakan culture. There is also the Thai Hua Museum on Krabi road which was the first Chinese Language School in Phuket. The building is considered as one of the few Sino-Portuguese Ang Mor Lao mansions left in Phuket.
